Mid-Missouri Organization of Storytelling

Mid-Missouri Organization of Storytelling (MOST) is a non-profit organization of both storytellers and story lovers dedicated to promoting the joy and art of storytelling throughout the state of Missouri.

Second Sunday of the month, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Children's Program Room, Columbia Public Library (except where noted below).

January 11, February 8, March 8, April 19 (3rd Sunday, due to Easter), May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 8, December 13.


Events

M.O.S.T. is active in sponsoring storytelling events in Mid-Missouri as well as providing workshops for professional growth.

Meddling at Wal-Mart and Other Adventures: Stories by Elizabeth Ellis
Friday, April 24, 2009 › 7-8 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Friends Room

Join us at this adult storytelling concert; a part of the Mid-Missouri Storytelling Festival. Elizabeth Ellis will be our featured performer for this delightful evening. Ellis' childhood in the Appalachian Mountains was rich with stories and imaginary friends. Living now in Texas, she travels constantly, sharing personal stories, folktales and tales of heroic women. Both witty and wise, her stories are often about seeing the extraordinary in our everyday experience. Designated an American Masterpiece Touring Artist by the NEA, Ellis is also a Storytelling Circle of Excellence Award recipient. The Mid-Missouri storytelling festival is a collaborative effort of DBRL and the Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City. This session of the festival is for adults only; consult the calendar for a listing of family events. Registration begins Tuesday, April 14.
